President Bruce Varga called the May meeting of the Association to order with a salute to the flag at 8:40AM May 9, 2006 .
A motion was made and seconded to suspend the meeting for breakfast. Passed
President Varga recalled the meeting at 9:20 AM
President Varga asked for a motion to accept the minutes of the April 2006 meeting. A motion was made and seconded. Passed

Committee Reports
Board of Directors: Art Higgins stated that the BOD discussed the County Reports , Stipends in the amount of $1,500 for the Treasurer and Secretary,
Elections, and the sending of a survey to the membership.
OSFM : No report
OEDM: Sue Vaughn stated the new pre-certification class that will consist of evening classes is in discussions to begin in January 2007, anyone interested
should contact Sue as she needs a minimum of 20 to have the class and the class may last up to 18 months. Doug Shane has returned to the Office, she
will be sending a questioner to all appointed Fire Marshals in the next couple of weeks. The Next Joint Training Class will be November 3, 2006

Legislative Committee: Ted Schroll spoke on the past legislative season and the Bills of interest to us. Kevin Kowalski spoke on the Sparkler Bills, “Fire
Service Caucus”, Carbon Monoxide Bill and the Code and Standards Appeal Process. On bettering our cause against the Fireworks industry, Wayne is
looking for information on sparkler accidents for a media campaign.
NFPA : Robert Duvall The low level lighting issue is only found in a NYC standard for installation.

Good of the Association
Board of Directors Chairman Art Higgins thanked President Varga for his service as president of our Association this past year.
President Varga thanked the Thanked the membership for all of the support that they gave him in his presidency.
This years Golf Outing will on August 1 at Hawks Landing
A motion was made and seconded to send the President or his representative and a quest to the retirement party for Mary Galvin . Passed
A motion was made and seconded to approve the stipends in the amount of $1,500 for the Treasurer and the Secretary. Passed
With no other business to come before the Association a motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting. Passed 10:45 AM

June Meeting
The June meeting will be a Breakfast meeting at the Old Mill located at 493 South End Road, Southington on June 13, 2006 it will begin at 8:30 with breakfast the meeting.
