12/03 Meeting Minutes

Meeting Date: December 9, 2003

Meeting Location: Aqua Turf Restaurant, Southington, Connecticut

Members in Attendance: 70

 


President Richard Morris called the December meeting of the Association to order at 7:00 PM.

President Morris led the pledge to the flag and Father Hyland led the members present in a payer.

President introduced Leo Belvel, CBOA President; Chris Laux, State Building Inspector and Wayne Maheu, D.F.E.B.S.

A motion was made and seconded to bring the meeting back to order. Passed

A motion was made and seconded to accept the report of the secretary as published. Passed.

Committee Reports

With the exception of the following select committees, all chairmen wished all of the membership a Happy and Safe Holiday.

“541” Committee: Don Dobson speaking for Mike Sinsigalli stated that we are moving forward on 101 / IBC issues. There is a meeting on December 22 with all parties (Chairmen).

Legislative Committee: John Vendetta stated that meetings have been ongoing with both the legislators and our lobbyist and two bills, which he felt, were to early to identify would be coming out this year

CFPC: Jeff Morrissette stated that John Vendetta would be submitting his resignation to the Governor on his CFPC appointment.

NFPA: Gary Keith reminded us of our founding participation in the Home Fire sprinkler Coalition and that the new email address is www.homefiresprinkler.org 

Membership: Bob saucier presented for first Reading

A motion was made and seconded to move to New Business. Passed

Old Business

New Business

A motion was made and seconded to have the 1st readings take their normal course. Passed

Good of the Association

JP Maguire Company thanked all of the members for the support that they have given the company and wished all a pleasant Holiday.

On behalf of the Officers of the Association, President Morris wishes all of our members a safe and healthy holiday season.

Father Hyland led the members in a closing prayer.

With no other business to come before the association, a motion was made and seconded to close the meeting. Passed 8:15 PM

If you are receiving these minutes through the mail and have an email available, please let me know at lfdfiremarshal@optonline.net.  Time to time news and information comes down from the OSFM and it can be passed on easily through email. Thanks to those of you that have already sent me, your email addresses. A lot of email addresses have come back bad either due to a change in service or actual address, if you have previously given me an address and have not received any emails this may have be the case.
