President Robert Rockwell called the December meeting of the Association to order with a salute to the flag at 7:05 PM.

Father Hyland led all attending in a holiday prayer.

President Rockwell welcomed Robert Ross, Executive Director; Chris Laux, State Building Official; Dan Tierney, Assistant State Building Official; John Blaschick, Deputy State Fire Marshal; Captain Thomas Garbedian, Executive Officer OSFM; and Sue Vaughn, Director OEDM.
Commissioner John A Danaher, III sent his regrets for not being able to attend the meeting but sent his warmest Holiday wishes.

A motion was made and seconded to suspend the normal order of business for the Association. Passed

Prior to the closing of the meeting President Rockwell spoke of the pending hiring of a lobbyist. This firm would be retained for a period of 1 year and be compensated in the sum of $24,000 at $2,000 a month. Don Dobson explained the reasons that we need to take this action. A motion to table to the January meeting any action on hiring the lobbyist was made and seconded. Passed.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:30 PM.

The January meeting will be a Breakfast meeting at the Aqua Turf, Southington on January 8, 2008, it will begin at 8:30 AM with a meeting to follow breakfast.
